Each and every aspect of the work has a metaphorical presence and relevance.
The installation is dedicated to the farmers and their gaze towards the sky in anticipation of rain to invigorate and enliven their dried, parched fields. And thus the black cloud symbolises a rain filled cloud hung on a tripod in the form of a huge black, cloth.
The real sprouted plants in the pot signify the fields and the dried earth and logs on which the pot is placed symbolise the thirsty earth. The work extends to a painting and a dry section of a tree beneath it. The beautiful mixed media painting grants movement and momentum to the group of objects with its vibrant, glistening strokes representing the golden rain.
The painting signifies the fact that precious shower is like gold for the farmers and is extensively beloved and cherished by them.
The artist tells more about her work, “I believe art is complete and meaningful only when it touches humanity and nature. The idea of the installation and painting has taken root from the series I am currently working on farmers suicides. It’s pathetic and total devaluing of humanity that farmers, those who are our food source are forced to take their life — the art work is symbolic of the deep connect of man with nature.”
