Karimnagar: A mechanical engineering student from Manthani, Singarapu Shivarama Krishna, is proving his mettle in 3D painting. His work is getting published in international magazines and he has now been invited by artists in Greece to display his paintings in an art museum.
Krishna, 26, who is pursuing his M.Tech, shot to fame when he painted a 3D zebra crossing in 2016, following Union minister for road transport and highways and shipping Nitin Gadkari's announcement to use 3D illusion speed-breakers to curb the menace of rash driving.
New York Magazine, Yahoo and Hindustan Times published his work while about 15 web channels webcast his 3D work. He is now negotiating with Chris Davaris, a Greek businessman, and his partners regarding exhibiting his works in a museum, the costs involved and the remuneration.
Krishna was honoured with an international Golden Brush Holder award by a website in 2014, being one of 60 across the globe to received this. He was also credited with drawing the most number of 3D paintings by Assist World Record.
The eldest son of Kishtaiah, a farmer in Manthani town, Krishna developed a love for drawing since he was three years old, thanks to the guidance and
unwavering support of his mother, Pochamma, a homemaker who knew the basics of painting.
He ventured into 3D painting in 2011, picking up tips and the fundamentals of the technique from a New Delhi-based artist, Mukesh, in 2010.
