Bengaluru will welcome a new eatery this week as La Gioia - Ristorante Italiano opens its doors on the 9th of August, 2024. Located in the heart of Bengaluru at Indiranagar, La Gioia goes beyond the culinary display to bring in the true essence of the South Italy experience. Jagged cliffs adorned with colorful towns like Positano and Amalfi define the culture of South Italy, known for its shore, sun, and food inspired by regional and traditional recipes. La Gioia - Ristorante Italiano promises to transport gourmands to this vibrant region of Italy through its epicurean, “Masseria” ambiance, and rich cultural immersion.


Adorned with a soothing beige color palette, evoking the essence of Mezzogiorno, an Italian term that embodies the warmth and brightness of midday in southern Italy, La Gioia - Ristorante Italiano celebrates the native culture in every way. From handmade pasta to traditional delicacies, every dish is a tribute to the region’s rich gastronomic traditions. Crafted with love, the menu is curated by renowned Chef Piccinno Vito from Lecce, in Salento (South of Italy, region of Puglia) who brings over 45 years of expertise in Italian cuisine. The menu celebrates the region’s love with classic dishes such as Bruschetta Alle Melanzane, Puccia Sole Della Puglia, Vitello Tonnato, Tartare Di Tonno, Vellutata Di Zucca Primi, Lasagna Alla Bolognese, Ravioli Al Pesto Di Pistacchio along with signature dishes such as Risotto Meneghino, Melanzane in Agrodolce, Foglie Di Ulivo Pugliesi, Vitello Tonnato, Tagliere Di Formaggio Salumi and more. Apart from the traditional Tiramisu, this ristorante will serve desserts like Pasticciotto, authentic Tiramisu, and more. The restaurant serves its in-house pasta in a variety of shapes such as Foglie di Ulivo, Cannelloni, Orecchiette, Bucatini, Bigoli, Nero di Seppia and more touted as one of India’s standalone restaurants with Concerto 5 EC, a pasta extruder.

The restaurant pays homage to the rich history of Southern Italy's colonial residences and the architectural style of a Masseria. These Masserias were a network of buildings surrounding a central courtyard, set amidst vineyards or lush greenery, dating back to the 16th century. La Gioia stands as one of India's premier Masseria restaurants, boasting an extensive wine selection including Frescobaldi Pater, Demaie Dolcetto, Reporta Nero D’avol, and Villa Fassini Toscana Chardonnay among others. Their cheese selection is equally impressive, such as Smoked Scamorza, Pecorino Romano, Stracciatella, Grana Padano alongside an array of cold cuts.
