JatinVarma and Core Team Step Back from Day-to-Day Roles; To Continue in Strategic Capacity
Mumbai, 10 April 2025: Comic Con India, the iconic pop culture platform that helped mainstream fandom culture across the country, is undergoing a key leadership realignment.

Founder JatinVarma, who has been at the helm since the company’s inception along with co-founder Karan Kalra, are stepping away from their day-to-day operational roles. SonalVarma, who served as Event Director, has transitioned out of her full-time role within the organization. While they will no longer be managing the brand’s daily execution, the team is expected to continue in a strategic and advisory capacity, guiding the broader vision of the festival as it enters its next phase.
This leadership evolution comes on the heels of NODWIN Gaming’s full acquisition of Comic Con India in January 2024 at a ₹55 crore valuation. Since then, the festival has expanded rapidly, launching new editions in Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Pune, alongside its legacy events in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
From grassroots beginnings in 2011 to a cultural phenomenon, Jatin’s leadership helped shape Comic Con India into the definitive fan destination in the region. Their passion for storytelling, comics, gaming, and cosplay built a platform that connected creators and fans alike, while setting new standards for fan-first events in India.
As Comic Con India prepares to announce a new core team, the brand is expected to retain its unique identity, while evolving to meet the growing appetite for pop culture experiences in the country.
An official update on the new leadership structure is expected in the coming weeks.
