Jyestabhisekam festivities commences at Tirumala temple
TIRUPATI: The Jyestabhisekam festivities commenced at the Kalyana mandapam inside the Sampangi Prakaram of Srivari temple in Tirumala on Friday, marking the beginning of three days of grand celebrations.
The event kicked off with various rituals and ceremonies conducted by the Ritwiks. They performed the Shanti Homam, Shata Kalasha Pratishta Avahana, Nava Kalasha Pratishta Avahana and Kankana Pratishta at the yagashala in preparation for the Kankana Dharana.
Following these preliminary rituals, the Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed for the utsava idols of Lord Malayappa Swamy and his consorts. The holy bath was accompanied by the chanting of Stree Suktam, Purusha Suktam, Bhu Suktam, Neela Suktam, and Narayan Suktam, creating a sacred atmosphere.
As the evening approached, a diamond kavacham, a diamond-studded armour, was adorned to the utsava idols of Swami and Ammavaru. With the diamond kavacham in place, the idols were taken on a grand procession through the Mada streets, after the Sahasra Deepalankara Seva.
The following days of the festivities will see the utsava idols adorned with different armours. On the second day on Saturday, the idols will be adorned with a Pearl Kavacham and on Sunday, a Gold Kavacham will be placed on them.
These adorned idols will be paraded on the Golden Tiruchi along the four mada streets of Tirumala temple.
TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy, TTD board member Maruti Prasad, temple deputy EO Loganathan and other officials were present.
