Srisailam witnesses a sea of devotees
Kurnool: Many people visited Srisailam temple on Saturday to seek blessings from Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Ammavaru. Friday was a special day during the Sravana month, so lots of people came for Varalakshmi Vratam and other rituals.
Since the next two days are also holidays, the temple authorities arranged facilities for managing the crowd. They provided breakfast and fresh water for people waiting in line.
Further, the Devasthanam performed Varuna Homam and Varuna Japam to bring rain and prosperity to the state and country. These rituals started on August 26 and concluded on Saturday.
Many priests and scholars from various places took part in the ceremonies, which ended with Purnahuthi. It is believed that these rituals will bring sufficient rain through Lord Varuna’s grace. People who visited the temple also participated in these rituals.
