TTD to explain Lord Hanuman's life scientifically
TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will celebrate Hanuman Jayanthi in Tirumala for five days from May 14 to May 18. Renowned scholars will present discourses on various characteristics of Lord Hanuman not just spiritually but also scientifically.
A decision to this effect has been taken at a meeting presided over by TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy on Tuesday. Various TTD organisations, including Vedic institutions and SVBC, have been asked to make necessary arrangements for the five-day festivities.
Dharma Reddy directed Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham principal K.S.S. Avadhani to organise pundits for the Yaagam and rendering of Akhanda Parayanam. Vedic scholars from S.V. Vedic University, National Sanskrit University and Dharmagiri will present the discourses.
Akhanda Parayanam will commence at 6 am on May 16 and conclude around 11 pm without any interruption. 2,872 slokas from Sundarakanda will be recited by a set of 11 Vedic pundits on a rotation basis after the completion of each cycle of nearly 150 shlokas.
The executive officer said artists of Annamacharya, Dasa Sahitya and Hindu Dharma Prachara project will present a wave of programmes for devotees at Anjanadri Akasa Ganga and Nada Neerajanam in Tirumala.
JEO (Health and Education) Sada Bhargavi and Venugopala Deekshitulu, a chief priest of Tirumala Temple, were present at the review meeting.
