Telugu, Sanskrit Academy at Tirupati
KAKINADA: The Telugu and Sanskrit Academy chairperson N. Lakshmi Paravti said on Friday that the academy would be set up in Tirupati and the stone-laying ceremony would be held soon.
Lighting the lamp at a seminar on Bhasha Chaitanya Sadassu (awareness on language), held at Adikavi Nannayya University near Rajamahendravaram, Lakshmi Parvati said a Language Study Centre will be also established along with the Telugu Sanskrit Academy in Tirupati. The Academy has published Inter First Year text books while the text books for degree courses would be released soon.
She exhorted parents to speak with their children only in Telugu language while at their homes and inculcate the greatness of Telugu to them. The government will take all steps to recapture the ancient glory of Telugu University, she said, and called upon the people to protect the Telugu Language through united efforts.
The Telugu Academy is making efforts to strengthen the language among students. Former chief ministers NT Ramarao and YS Rajasekhara Reddy had made efforts for development of Telugu language. Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy is also taking various steps to give top priority to education, language and literature, she said.
Presiding over the seminar, Adikavi Nannayya University vice chancellor Mokka Jagannadha Rao said that the university would render its cooperation in promotion of Telugu and Sanskrit languages and take up projects in this direction. He suggested that the Telugu Academy can sponsor a diploma course in Sanskrit language in the university.
Academy member Dr K Ramakrishna, Kala Gowthami founder Dr Bulusu Venkatasatyanarayana Murthy, former special judicial second class magistrate SR Prudwi, Aswadana Samithi coordinator Gowri Naidu, and SKVT College Telugu department head Dr P.B. Sanjeeva Rao were among those present.
