Declare Cyclone Michaung as national calamity: CPM
Visakhapatnam: CPM state secretary Srinivasa Rao criticised Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s governance. He appealed to the central government to declare Cyclone Michaung a national calamity and support the farmers by announcing financial assistance of Rs 10,000 crore. He also demanded Mohan Reddy organise an all-party meeting immediately.
Srinivasa Rao was addressing a press conference organised in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. He opined that the Jagan government failed to support the victims of the cyclone.
He said, “If the CM does not change his attitude, the fate of YSRC will be the same as that of the BRS in Telangana. “Whatever CM is claiming is not being executed at the field level. There is strong opposition to the YSRC in the state. CPM will grow as an alternative force,” he said. The CPM state secretary added that CM Jagan didn’t meet people.
Srinivasa Rao also criticised the BJP. He said, “They are making excuses by saying that the state government is not giving land for the railway zone. The BJP is cheating in the case of the RINL and railway zone. He asked why the BJP is not informing Parliament that they want to close RINL. He also alleged that, till now, the BJP had betrayed the public in the name of Lord Rama.
