More events added to 'Tank Bund Sundays'
Hyderabad: As the ‘vehicle-free Sundays’ have become a hit, the HMDA has planned a number of events at the Tank Bund for the third edition on Sunday. The HMDA said Tank Bund will become a place to enjoy a carnival of sorts, with cultural performances, handicrafts and food stalls.
This move comes after minister K.T. Rama Rao observed people thronging the Tank Bund stretch on Sundays, enjoying a pollution-free time with friends and family.
September 12 will see the coveted ceremonial band of the Indian Army, from AOC, Secunderabad, perform live, followed by local artists showing off their beatboxing and singing skills.
Traditional folk artists will be performing for the visitors. Arrangements are being made for children’s entertainment with professional clown artists, jugglers, cyclists and more being roped in for performances.
Along with food trucks, stalls have been allotted to the handicraft artisans from Shilparamam to sell their products. The HMDA’s urban forestry wing will be distributing saplings free to all visitors. Mobile public toilets and ambulance facilities have also been arranged.
