Hair' is the new statement
An outfit is only complete when all of its elements are in place. This includes the hair and its accessories as well. Hair accessories have been part of our lives ever since human civilisation existed. The rich and the poor were distinguished based on the materials they used to accessorise their hair. But now hair accessories are no more differentiated from person to person. They have become a part of our wardrobe.
Real flowers have time and again made their way onto runways in different sizes and shapes. Makeup artiste and hairstylist Gayatri Raghavan suggests, “This season, real flowers like Baby’s Breath and other small buds and flowers are apt. Along with real flowers, tiny beads and sequins have also been used to embellish the hair.”
While working with flowers, it is very important that they compliment your outfit. Stylist Kulsum Parvez shares, “It is very important that the flowers you wear compliment your outfits. For example: Red carnations works well with green outfits and peach flowers compliment pastel colours well.”
Its not just flowers that are in trend, ribbons, scrunchies, claw clips, curved pony holders, strings and bobby pins too are in vogue. Stylist Surabhi Manoj says, “One can never go wrong with scrunchies, scarfs or ribbons tied into a bow with summer outfits. For a more formal look, a low pony with strings is always the best choice. But for a more traditional look, a maang tikka or a jeweled topped clip will be perfect. “For a more casual look, Kulsum suggest trying out feathers which is in trend now. “Ensure that you don’t go overboard with the accessories just because they look nice. Its best to keep things minimum and neutral,” suggests Gayatri.
