Embrace ‘em Rolls!

So what if you’re on the heavier side? Fashion is for everybody regardless the size. These tips and hacks will have you looking ‘fly’.

For the longest time, because of machismo, men have never found the need to up their ante in fashion. Famous men’s fashion brands too have not given importance to specifically cater to the needs of different body types. We break the stereotypical misconceptions and give a few style tips for big men.

Fashion can go right or wrong based on the smallest of choices. One of the most common fashion faux pas that men tend to succumb to is wearing baggy clothes. No, this doesn’t hide those rolls; it just makes you look like you’ve gained more weight.

Prasad Bidappa, a fashion stylist said, “Wearing baggy clothes is a big mistake as it just makes you look even bigger. If you are XL, don’t wear XXL because you feel it hides your body. Keep your clothes well fitted and smart.”

The choice of colours and fabric can be tricky specifically if you live in a bi-polar weather. However, there are safer options to choose from an array of colours and beautiful fabric.

Xavio Wungreiso Ngasainao, a fashion designer said, “The choice of fabric definitely depends on the season, I would suggest cotton in summer, linen, silk, polyester or rayon, and of course good old woollen in winter. Wearing unicolour clothes like a jumpsuit or the same colour top and bottom elongates the body.
Darker colours like black, coffee brown makes you look slim and I would suggest avoiding bright and pale colours because you generally tend to look broader”
One of the insecurities men usually face is covering their bulged chests. Fret not for this designer gives you the perfect hack to flaunt the chest and embrace your masculinity.

Joyce, a fashion designer said, “The biggest blunder many heavy men tend to do is to wear round necks with broadens them. The trick is to shape your body with a V-neck t-shirt in summer and of course you can spice up your look with a denim or leather jacket to embrace the macho in you.

The common notion is that women take more time to dress when compared to men is understandable because men usually don’t tend to classify their attires for occasions. Dressing appropriately for an occasion helps you grace the event with poise and panache.

Prasad Bidappa, explains, “Well fitted jeans with a square cut cotton shirt looks great for casual occasions, blazers and jackets too must fit well for formal events. Party looks can be kept in dark shades. Printed silk shirts with bold patterns look good on plus sizes men as it tricks the eye because of its busy design.”
