Watch: How to get the perfect golden glow this monsoon
Who doesn't lust after that gorgeous golden afterglow of coming from a relaxing vacay? Your skin is perfectly tanned and dewy, your complexion, radiant.
What if we could give you that without you ever having to step in to the sweltering sun? Doesn't that sound like a dream come true?
Well Mumbai-based professional make-up artist Bushra Madhiya has the perfect remedy for you to get your glow on without ever having to step out.
The 26-year-old Mumbai girl starts off with Benefit’s Pore Minimizer, “I think most of us have visible pores on our T-zone, this product really helps you have a smooth base”.
Followed by this is a base layer of Huda Beauty’s Brown Sugar Foundation, “The texture of this foundation provides perfect coverage, and I use this shade for my skin tone, so pick one that suits you.”
Then to get rid of any discolouration and uneven skin tone, Bushra uses NAKED’s Peach Colour Correcting Fluid.
She blends it on to her face using a beauty blender, she suggests, “Always push the product into your skin, don’t rub the blender on your face, you’ll just end up with nothing on your face and all of the product will be on your blender.”
Following this, she used MAC’s Studio Fix Powder (NC25) to fix the base makeup into place.
Then comes Bushra’s favourite bit, “I love doing my eyebrows, I use Kryolan’s Eyebrow Palette, but the brown shade on your eye shadow palette should work just as well.”
Because the look needs to look natural, Bushra uses No. 54 lashes from UroParis, which she glues using the DUO eyelash glue.
“Mascara should be applied from down to up, in a zig-zag motion, this avoids clumps and gives a more uniform, natural look”, she says while applying Smashbox’s Full Exposure Mascara.
Then comes the most important bit: Contouring, for which she uses MAC’s Diane Kendal Studio Quiktrik Stick.
For getting the ‘sun-kissed’ element right, Bushra uses MAC’s Refined Golden Bronzing Powder, “Use how much ever you want based on how bronze, or sun-kissed you want to look.”
For highlighting she chooses Cover FX’s Liquid Highlighter Drops in the shade of Sunlight, which she swears by, “I absolutely love this product, just look at it,” she says as she dabs some on her cheek, “Isn’t it heavenly?”
It sure is, but she advises to refrain from using too much, “Or you will end up looking like a spirit in the pictures you take.”
Since she doesn’t want her look to be flat, she adds some colour to her face with Lancome’s Blush Subtil.
Finally, for her lips she uses NYX’s Lipcream in the shade: London, and to make the colour pop, she adds a coat of MAC’s lip gloss Blessedly Rich.
She uses Smashbox’s Photo Finish Prime Water to finish her look, “This will help keep all my efforts in place for the next few hours.”
