The much talked about London Fashion week concluded on the 20th of September. With top designers strutting their stuff on the runways, this years LFW was a non stop party with the best in fashion greeting the eyes.
The Paris Fashion week set the runways ablaze with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu showcasing their style mantra for the season to come.
Designer took to the catwalk to give us a taste of what we can expect for Spring 2017. To help you plan your future shopping list, we've rounded up the key trends we spotted on the LFW and PFW runways, from the colors we’ll all be obsessing over come Spring to the new silhouettes to look out for in the coming months. It’s never too early to start planning your Spring/Summer wardrobe.
The uneven hemline
Whats the rule on hemlines? there is not rule. LFW and PFW saw the hemline rise and fall according to the mood of the models. Yanking them up and then down in uneven, offbeat lengths- pleated, undulated, slit, asymmetric- plenty a variety. Dramatic, unpredictable and eccentric- thats the character the “uneven hemline” lent to the London and Paris fashion weeks.

Supersize my Sleeve
We have been seeing a play on the sleeves for a few seasons now. Cape sleeves, ballooned sleeves, bell shaped, ultra long – the trend got more exaggerated with the London and Paris Fashion Weeks. This trend was clubbed with other prominent elements like ghingam, sheer and micro floral prints. That’s what’s coming up next Spring/ Summer. Stylists had fun this season rolling sleeves up, yanking them down to expose shoulders, shredding them open and apparently so did the designers as they highlighted sleeves across collections. Meanwhile, we know that winter isn’t over yet, try the knit versions of this trend or layer a turtleneck under thinner fabrics.
Sheer(ly) temple
Sheers and layers were prominent trends seen in both London and Paris Fashion Weeks. Lace, tulle, chiffon and net are the leading players of the trends, with billowing silhouettes on one side or figure skimming bodycon looks on the other, embracing the femininity, fluidity and romance that spring is associated with. A play with flowing fabrics, layers, accents of colour and the luxurious softness they give a silhouette.
