With style and sampradayam, I thee wed
When it comes to weddings, Chennai has limited options to offer for its regular citizens as the best stores are saturated with repetitive stuff and at times the options are limited. Most of the people then prefer to go to another city for their wedding shopping. Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi are some of the well known pit stops for wedding shopping and bridal wear.
Keeping this in mind, many of the event organisers of Chennai have been organising regular pop-ups and exhibitions in the city where they invite renowned brands and designers from other parts of India to come down and showcase their creations, in order to widen the choices of the discerning Chennai shoppers.
The Bridal Story is a two-day event being organised this weekend by the Ladies Wing of Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), that will feature bridal couture from ace designers, bespoke jewellery, wedding planners, photographers, caterers needed to execute a wedding. Popular designer labels from across various categories including decor, photography, catering, wedding planning, designer wear (for men and women) and jewellery will be a part of this.
“There is no dearth of fashion and lifestyle exhibitions, the city sees many of those throughout the year, but when it comes to wedding exhibitions, there are only a handful”, says Sonali Dugar (Chairperson, JITO Ladies Wing, Chennai). “We, at JITO, wanted to bring the best of the wedding world to Chennai and provide Chennaiites the chance to plan their dream wedding with all vendors under one roof. Keeping this in mind, we curated The Bridal Story”.
With pop ups and exhibitions happening every day in the city, some new names bring a refreshing change to the wedding shopping scenario. Brands like Mehta & Sons from Mumbai, Preksha Gems from Bikaner, Ranka Jewellers from Pune and PMJ Jewels from Hyderabad, designer labels like Shanthanu Goeka, Falguni Shane Peacock, Gaurav Gupta, Anju Modi will be showcasing their latest bridal collections.
Scheduled on September 14 and 15 at Taj Coromandel, Nungambakkam, many of these designers and planners will be present at the event to interact with visitors and offer wedding solution customised to each one’s needs.
