New Delhi: Designer Sanjukta Dutta who is renowned in the universe of fashion for her eclectic designing of Mekhla Chador and the rival of Assam silk has the gorgeous actor Karishma Kapoor as the showstopper.
The new collection ‘Morom’ by the designer is an assorted mix of traditional designs in modern silhouettes, paired down in the choicest of characteristic Assamese silk. The collection is a reflection of the designer’s inspiration from the butterfly and the natural flora of Assam. The key highlight of the show was the designer’s signature collection – Mehkla Chador.
The designer exhibited a collection of modern designs by using the traditional silk which comprised of jumpsuits, skirt and crop top, saris with cape and pant suit. The collection was a perfect blend of the traditional, contemporary and quirky, making each of the designs a piece of art. Black, crème and beige were some of the colours that highlighted the intricate motifs in red, silver and gold.
