Au fab and natural

Men, allow this Bengaluru-based designer's natural fabric creations to dress you up for the festivities ahead.

It’s not 2006 anymore and well-dressed men know what it takes to be a winner. While the divas have plenty of options to scout around for the latest styles, men are usually left behind when it comes to being fashion forward. That’s why Pramod Bafna decided to redefine men’s fashion with natural fibers and fabrics for the dapper dudes and his collections have already been featured in Milan, Italy, Australia, Gulf and other cities across Europe.

This 30-year-old Bengalurean also creates unisex handprinted silk shawls, silk pocket squares, scarves and ties that can dress you up for the wedding and festive season ahead.

“The love for design came naturally to me, and I started working hands-on with fabrics and garment making. I recently completed a course in Fashion Brand Management from Polimoda Fashion School, Florence, Italy to fuel my sense of creativity, design and aesthetics from manufacturing to the end design. I plan to bring in effortless style with natural premium fabrics, with personalised, customised and bespoke tailoring.

In Love With Whites is for those who love whites. I manufacture my fabrics and although I wouldn’t like to name some of the celebrities, but what I can say is that most well known faces across the country, including designers and stylists have worked with me,” shares Prmod of Warp & Weft.

Ask him what’s unique from the others in this space and he explains, “From conceptualising, designing, programming and manufacturing in-house, taking forward global trends even before they arrive in the country, mixed with a reflection of the domestic scenario, with ample of room to experiment with designs and colours.

The prices are also affordable (Rs 3,000 onwards). What also stands out are the silk collections, fine European linen prints, speciality woolens, travel lite collections, plus size that refuses to crush, with innovation in new fabrics as the driving force. This is only the beginning, as I have a lot to learn from my father, Jay Bafna, who has been in the fashion industry for three decades.”

Talking of his experience working for global markets, Prmod adds, “It has helped me imbibe a sense of openness to various trends, patterns, design approach and fabric. I have received accolades for silks across the world, with the woolen collection close on its heels.”
