Reviving the tradition of heirloom jewellery

Aneesha Reddy: From Techie to Jewellery Innovator, Redefining Tradition with Vibha Jewellers

A true entrepreneur at heart, the story of Aneesha Reddy, founder of Vibha Jewellers, was not that simple. The techie from Deloitte wanted to do something different in jewellery that seems straightforward enough. “We always wanted to see jewellery as an heirloom, something that you wear and it’s a very traditional piece, jewellery that comes down from generations,” says Aneesha.

Aneesha was always fascinated by the traditional jewellery her mother and grandmother wore. She loved the intricate designs, the craftsmanship, and the stories behind each piece. When her mother suggested starting a jewellery business, Aneesha was hesitant at first, but eventually, her interest in design and business won out. “My mom had this idea of going into the jewellery thing, and then my brother did a course in manufacturing,” Aneesha recalls.

Vibha Jewellers was an idea that was started as a small, weekend venture, but it grew to become a full-fledged business. Aneesha’s brother joined the business, bringing with him his manufacturing expertise, and together they began creating unique traditional pieces with a modern twist. “We try to bring in a lot of new designs, and we experiment with different kinds of stones,” Aneesha says.

Aneesha’s vision for Vibha Jewellers is clear: she wants to bring traditional jewellery into the modern era, making it accessible and appealing to a younger generation. She achieves this by incorporating innovative designs, using lab-grown diamonds, and providing complete transparency in her business dealings. “We want to be completely transparent in whatever the whole jewellery that they want to bring in,” Aneesha emphasises.

One of the unique things about Vibha Jewellers is that it empowers women. Aneesha’s mother runs the Vande Mataram Foundation, which educates and trains underprivileged girls in a job. Many of these girls now work at Vibha Jewellers, learning the art of jewellery-making and gaining confidence and independence. “We have staff like that, and we only train them,” Aneesha says proudly.

As Aneesha looks toward the future, she’s glad to be building up Vibha Jewellers at all these outlets. She said she’s keeping it as contemporary with the conventional designs and making use of that technique. “We want to expand in Hyderabad, like 5-6 branches, and then outside Hyderabad,” Aneesha says excitedly.

In a world dominated by fast fashion and mass-produced jewellery, Vibha Jewellers looks to revive tradition, with focus on innovation, and community building. Aneesha Reddy’s passion for jewellery and her commitment to empowering women make her an entrepreneur in Hyderabad to watch out for.
