Hyderabad-based hospitality major Ohri's has a similar story to tell. When people stayed away from socialising for the fear of Coronavirus infection, Amar Ohri-led company focused their energies on building a new brand — 'Cake Nation'.

“We realised that cakes have evolved from being a celebratory dessert for birthdays to many more events in the last decade or so. As there was a vaccuum in the good cale space, we started our Cake Nation journey,” said Nakul Chandna, chief operating officer of Ohri's.

In two years, Cake Nation has 14 outlets, which premium cakes, and has emerged the fastest growing vertical of the company.

Nakul says that the company’s success came through focus, given to all areas such as product, place, price and people.

“Ohri's was always know for its fine dining experience but we had started focusing on our online sales during the pandemic period. We have the best team of experienced chefs and we offer a wide variety of specialised cakes such as Rasmalia, chocolate truffle and red velvet and special desserts such as Bulls Eyes and cake-based desserts items such as pastries, donuts ,dry cakes filled with every bite of sweetness,” he added.

He said Cake Nation is specialised in art of confectionery and offers customised designer premium cakes at affordable prices. "The success mantra is the rich premium taste and great quality provided by Ohri's to every household and the trust of the customers towards the brand."

Ohri's aims of opening 50 outlets of Cake Nation by end of the year, even as the company is just 5 years away from its golden jubilee. It's long term target is on spreading Cake Nation all across India in many cities with over 200 outlets in future.
