Premiethon 2024: The Hope Run for premature babies

Hyderabad: The third edition of Premiethon – The Hope Run unfolded on Sunday at T-Works, Hitech City, Hyderabad, with over 2,300 participants joining hands to raise awareness and support for premature and sick newborns. Organized by the Extra Mile Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing care for underprivileged premature babies, the event coincided with World Prematurity Day, observed annually on November 17.

The marathon featured three race categories—3K, 5K, and 10K—bringing together participants from diverse walks of life. It aimed to shine a light on the challenges faced by premature babies while supporting families who cannot afford critical neonatal care.

The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, IT, Industries & Commerce, Gareth Wynn Owen, British Deputy High Commissioner to Telangana, Joginder Tanikella, CEO, T-Works, Ramesh Kancharla, CMD, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Santosh Kanday, CMD, Sukhii Builders, the title sponsor and Avnish Kumar, Managing Director, Neeru’s.

Premiethon 2024 underscored the theme of resilience, reflecting the struggles of premature babies who fight for every breath. The proceeds from the marathon will directly benefit Extra Mile Foundation's mission to provide quality, timely care for newborns from economically disadvantaged families.

The Foundation is working towards providing equitable and quality medical care for all the underprivileged premature newborns. Premiethon 2024 stands as a testament to the power of collective action and the enduring hope that drives change, one step at a time.
