Techies cycle to promote healthy lifestyle
Thiruvananthapuram: The IT professionals who are working long hours in front of the computer without much of a physical activity are prone to an accelerated aging process and early onset of related lifestyle illnesses.
Sitting for long hours in front of the computer can invite a multitude of health issues. Health experts say there is a strange onset of high levels of blood pressure, diabetes, joint pains in young people. "Sedentary lifestyle is the most common problem among IT employees. Our lifestyle includes no physical exercise at all. We come to office in our vehicles, sit on our chairs in front of the computers, eat food and go home," says Mr. Vishnu Lal R, employee of Envestnet who along with Mr Krishna Moorthy, an employee with Palnar Transmedia are currently on a cycle expedition from Kasargod to Thiruvanathuram. The cycle expedition which is aimed at promoting health life style, began on June 2.
