Kids are getting prone to arthritis, says doctors
Lucknow: A study conducted by the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) has found that children are getting increasingly prone to bone disorders and arthritis.
The study was conducted by Prof. Ajay Singh, who heads the Orthopaedic department at the KGMU, and Dr Abbas and a team of medicos.
“We are getting more and more children with complaints of back pain, pain in joints and also under developed bone structures. According to Mr Singh, three in every thousand children were found suffering from arthritis.
“Children drinking water from water bodies near industrial areas are being affected by these disorders due to the increased lead content in the water,” he said. He said an advanced study with the Indian Toxicology Research Centre will be required to pin down the exact reasons.
