Bengaluru: We work hard, party hard, also eat healthy
Bengaluru: Bengalureans may have a reputation for eating out and pubbing more than their counterparts in other cities, but here’s the good news: They also eat healthy.
A recent survey by a mobile health and fitness company, HealthifyMe, claims people in the city consume the most vegetables and fruit when compared to people in other major cities of South India.
‘HealthifyMe Trends 2016’ analysed 43 million food records of one million urban Indians across 200,000 locations to arrive at the conclusion.
“HealthifyMe's data clearly shows Bengalureans have healthier eating habits than their other South Indian counterparts. They also eat more proteins and lesser fat.
In fact, the city consumes more fruit and vegetables than Hyderabad and Chennai. With just a 10 per cent more reduction in carbs and a slightly higher protein intake, Bengaluru could easily stake claim to being one of India's healthiest cities!” says Mr Tushar Vashisht, CEO and co-founder of HealthifyMe.
