The Happy Chemistry!
She does what makes her and everyone around her happy and believes that getting happier is easier than you think. Bengaluru-based Happiness expert Neha Arora Nicholas feels that it is something that can be sought, acquired and learnt.
As someone who has spent the past few years studying the science of happiness, she’s often asked what makes her happy and she says, “It doesn’t take magic, just some science to become Oh, So Happy!” is what I tell people.
Our bodies produce happy chemicals serotonin, dopamine, endorphins and oxytocin that make us feel good and cortisol that make us sad. The secret is in knowing ‘How’ to release those happy chemicals and clear ourselves of our stress chemicals. I teach scientifically proven techniques that can help us flood our bodies with happy chemicals.”
Neha conducts Happiness trainings, workshops and talks for corporates, institutes and individuals to help them become not just happy, but get an eternal state of joy and her most recent was on World Happiness Day on March 20 at MG Road.
“I use neuroscience and musicals — neuroscience because along with the ‘How’, people should also know the ‘Why’ and musicals because they deal in developing resilience, faith, love, joy in small things and kindness.
These are lifelong skills to remain cool under stress and create a positively happy mindset, to free one’s happy chemicals. My trainings are packed with storytelling, games, dynamic exercises, meditation, music, peppy dances and fun,” reveals Neha.
The lady has done various courses on positive psychology, neuro-linguistic programming and neuroscience of happiness and done extensive research, analysed books, spiritual texts and Harvard papers all with the purpose of living and imparting knowledge for a meaningful life.
It all began when she noticed her friends, family and colleagues who despite having it all, were more unhappy than happy and she wondered why was it difficult to be happy. This lead her into researching how one could find the kind of happiness that doesn’t fade away.
What eggs her on? Neha states with a smile, “I’ve always loved to make people happy; and I’m happy that I can help them achieve everlasting happiness by teaching them the science of this concept. There’s so much stress around us today and people need to acquire this art of being happy.”
Neha is also a trained dancer in both Indian classical and Latin forms, a theatre artiste, an angel clairvoyant and loves reading, playing racquet sports and travelling. Now, we know what truly makes her happy!
