Claudia Ciesla: Booked for fitness
After hitting the big screen with Kya Kool Hain Hum 3, German actress Claudia Ciesla of Bigg Boss fame has now tried her hand at writing. Recently in town to talk about her newly launched book, Keep Eating Keep Losing, she talked of spreading awareness about the need for a healthy body.
“My aim through this book is not to make money but to cognise people about the importance of healthy living. I want to offer a new perspective to the concept of fitness by discussing various aspects of it. Having priced the book reasonably, I hope it reaches a mass audience,” she said.
She also shared that for this book, she drew inspiration from the requirement of being fit, a demand of her career as a model and actress. In order to take her passion for fitness to the next level, she also acquired the degree of a nutritionist.
“The notion of fitness shouldn’t be made complex by unnecessary dieting. It took me a year to author this book and my readers will understand how I have simplified the process of weight loss for them,” she avered.
Talking about the traditional Indian diet, she felt that it is the healthiest and the richest in nutrients.
The actress also intends to break the myths surrounding weight loss with her book. According to her, each one of us is constantly on a diet, thereby making ‘dieting’ a misinterpreted term. Secondly, her objective is to bring youngsters out of the misconception that starvation will help them lose weight. She affirmed that weight loss can be achieved by inculcating healthy eating habits that her book will elaborate on.
Justifying the title, Claudia promoted consuming food at regular intervals without any need to compromise on taste by snacking healthy. “I have essentially laid emphasis on the importance of the three main meals of the day and why you shouldn’t skip them. The idea isn’t to eat less but to eat right,” she affirmed.
Having lived in India for a couple of years now, she claimed to have acquainted herself with the unhealthy choices pervading the lifestyle. Keeping that in mind, she has included various chapters in her book to meet the specific needs of different people.
“While one chapter is dedicated to housewives who keep undermining the need for a healthy body, another ensures that busy businessmen can keep themselves fit too,” she said.
Talking about exercise she exclaimed, “Diet and exercise are like husband and wife!” She added, “I have dedicated an entire chapter of my book to explaining the importance and necessity of regular exercise. Despite busy office hours and hectic schedules, you must take time out for it.”
Calling stress a disease of the 21st century, she also promoted the need for yoga and meditation, an essential characteristic of leading a healthy life. “Living in the land of yogic energies, I have also motivated my readers to practise yoga and meditation. De-stressing your mind is the same as cleansing your body,” she concluded.
