Sangeeta Prayaga is a computer science engineer turned artist and entrepreneur. After earning her master’s degree in the U.S. and working as a software developer, she found solace in drawing mandalas as a way to manage stress. But her creative journey truly took off when she stumbled upon a video of a playful baby elephant chasing birds—an image that instantly lifted her spirits. This sparked the idea of therapy elephants, just like therapy dogs, leading to the birth of GR, a lovable baby elephant character who became a symbol of joy and mental wellness.

Through GR, Sangeeta began sharing her personal struggles with mental health, resonating with thousands. Even after a life-altering accident that left her bedridden, she turned to her art and storytelling, finding healing through GR and connecting deeply with her audience. As her journey evolved, so did GR—joined by GL, his adorable partner, forming the heart of Elephant Therapy.

In 2021, she launched Miss Compass Hands, a stationery and lifestyle brand celebrating these therapy elephants. What started as a one-woman venture has now grown into a thriving business with a dedicated team. Her work has gained recognition, leading to collaborations with FabIndia, Indian Oil, Mashable India, IIT Jodhpur, and more.

Now, as a new mom, Sangeeta playfully says, “I have two babies—my brand and my son.” Juggling both with love and dedication, she continues to spread smiles through her art, proving that joy and healing can come in the form of the cutest elephants.
