No tiger scare: Kurnool district forest officer
Kurnool: Atmakur divisional forest officer Selvam on Thursday made it clear that there is no tiger scare in Kurnool district. Sighting of a wild Tiger along with its two cubs captured on trap cameras kept forest officials on toes while chill went down spines of villagers of Jamminagar thanda in Velugodu mandal on Wednesday. He said that 100 trained Forest officials were closely monitoring the tiger which had strayed into agriculture fields close to residential areas near Velugodu. Atmakur DFO Selvam told this correspondent that rescue team from Tirupati and Markapuram had arrived and going about their task. The human-animal conflict in areas adjacent to forest lines in Kurnool district has been a contentious issue. Forest officials said that a wood-cutter had informed them about the tiger.
