Monsoon triggers hatching of cobra eggs, Hyderabad on alert
On Monday 14 snakes were rescued by the Friends of Snakes Society (FoSS) including seven cobras and two Russell's vipers.
Hyderabad: As the city has been experiencing regular rainfall since the past few days, city folks need to be more careful of snakes.
On Monday 14 snakes were rescued by the Friends of Snakes Society (FoSS) including seven cobras and two Russell’s vipers. One can contact the FoSS help line 8374233366 or Telangana forest department at 18004255365 any part of the day if a snake is sighted.
According to FoSS, it is mainly during this time of the year that the cobra eggs hatch after two months of incubation period as the prey base is abundant during monsoon which results in frequent sighting of snakes.
