Festive flirting, Saree Snaps, Diwali DMs: Dating trends popping up this festive season
With the festival season coming to a brief pause with Diwali, India's most popular dating app, QuackQuack, conducted an extensive analysis of data collected from user activities during the month of October and ran an online survey to find out the most exciting trends of this season and forecast the trends to expect in the coming months. The app experienced a massive surge in traffic- more than 25% uprise in chats and 40% in local matches- in the past 2 months. QuackQuack's Founder and CEO, Ravi Mittal, commented, "We are expecting even more traffic in the coming months- with more festivities on its way and the year wrapping up, daters are always in a rush to find the perfect match around this time of the year. Last month, we also saw some interesting trends; for instance, users indulging in conversations more than usual, the highest number of profile revamps and our study shows there are some more unique trends yet to make their debut."
The Saree Snaps trend stole the limelight this month, with the app reporting a 15% uptick in female users updating their profiles with photos in sarees and other ethnic outfits this festive season. Men did not lag behind, with 24% of male users switching their display images to something more festive. Bella (28) said, "I got more likes once I changed my Profile picture from a photo in Western wear to a one in saree. People are more drawn to their own culture and tradition during this time of the year."
