Gleeden achieves 3 million users in India

The world's largest extramarital dating platform, Gleeden, has crossed milestone of 3 million users in India, marking a remarkable 270 percent growth in 2024. This surge highlights the platform's rising acceptance among Indian users, particularly women, whose registrations have increased by 128 percent over the past year.

The app's growing user base predominantly falls within the 30-50 age group, with women accounting for 58 percent of users and men making up 42 percent. This notable participation of women reflects a shifting societal mindset, with many seeking intimate connections through discreet means. Interestingly, 40 percent of female users actively engage on the platform for up to 45 minutes daily, often during late-night hours between 11 PM and 2 AM.

Sybil Shiddell, Gleeden India’s Country Manager, expressed her excitement about the milestone, stating, "India has always been a pivotal market for Gleeden, and reaching 3 million users underscores the evolving perceptions of relationships in the country. The growing interest among women highlights the need for platforms that prioritize safety, discretion, and freedom of choice in today’s socially driven world."

Gleeden’s user base is primarily concentrated in metropolitan cities. Bengaluru leads with 20 percent of users, followed by Mumbai (19 percent), Kolkata (18 percent), and Delhi (15 percent). Smaller cities such as Bhopal, Vadodara, Kochi, and Guwahati have also shown increased engagement, signifying broader acceptance of unconventional dating practices beyond urban centers.

In 2025, Gleeden aims to expand further across India, targeting new cities to achieve a projected 5 million user community. The app’s hyperlocalisation efforts in cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Kochi have attracted users aged 25-35, solidifying a new core demographic for the platform.

The platform's success is also attributed to its innovative features that enhance user experience and prioritize safety. Surveys reveal that these features resonate strongly with 15 percent of women and 17 percent of men, particularly in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
