Love Unfiltered Report' for Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad is moving towards technology, embracing dating apps and websites, to connect with people, especially given the melting-pot culture in the newer parts of the city where people from across the country work in the IT and finance corridor.

However, unlike other cities, dating is a mix of tradition and modernity in the city.

‘Love Unfiltered Report’ for Hyderabad, compiled by dating app Bumble, emphasises the importance of family compatibility, with 55 per cent wanting partners who fit well with their family members. Shared values and beliefs seem to be the key traits valued by Generation Z (Gen Z) in Hyderabad.

According to the report, 54 per cent of participants are serious about dating as a way of life to meet a partner, with 46 per cent respecting one another’s boundaries and 54 per cent seeking emotional intelligence in their partners.

Samarpita Samaddar, India communications director, said: “Gen Z in Hyderabad has a unique dating culture. Eighty-seven per cent value sharing a ‘love language’ and having similar music tastes, while seventy-eight per cent bond over arts, literature, and intellectual discussions.”

She said that women are prioritising kind behaviour over physical appearance, with honesty, diversity and tolerance sought after the most.

Natasha Jain, a Bumble user, said: “When a match is made, it's up to the woman to start the conversation within 24 hours, encouraging more equal and respectful interactions.”

Alice Richard, of Jubilee Hills, said Bumble offers a range of features beyond dating, including Bumble BFF for finding friends and Bumble Bizz for professional networking.
