On her relationship with Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, MLA R.K. Roja says, “I met Jagan Anna for the first time at his father’s funeral. When I went to pay my respects to the man who I had met only a few days back, I felt out of place since I didn’t know anyone. But, I had to express my condolences to his family, so I addressed him as Jagan Anna.
“Since then, I started visiting Amma (Vijayamma) and Anna frequently. Even the first time that I visited, I didn’t feel like a stranger. They considered me as one of their own and not only gave me a seat, but also made me win the elections. I faced trouble when TDP planned to suspend me for a year, and Jagan Anna fought for me relentlessly. That was when I decided that he was a true brother. Nobody had done this for me before. Since then, I have been tying a rakhi and I always try to stand up for him,” she says.
