Nizamabad: Indur's tourism potential untapped
NIZAMABAD: Although the administration proposed to develop tourism circuits in the district, nothing has fructified so far. If tourism develops in the district, it can open new avenues of employment for the local youth.
Presently, Sriramsagar, Nizamsagar projects, Pocharam, Alisagar and Ashoksagar reservoirs are the major tourist spots in the district.
Dichpally Ramalayam, Kala Bhairava temple at Ramareddy village, Bheemgal Limbadri gutta, Bada Pahad in Varni, Siddi Rameshwar temple at Bhiknoor witnessed huge crowd of devotees.
Unfortunately, development activities at tourism centres have been neglected for long. To attract tourists from Hyderabad, officials had proposed two tourism circuits at Pocharam sanctuary-Nizamsagar-Kowlas fort and Dichpally Ramalayam-Nizamabad fort-Ashoksagar, Alisagar. Tourism secretary Chandana Khan had visited Nizamabad and sanctioned funds for tourism development. But nothing has happened so far.
“Officials should encourage the local youth in tourism development. Despite assurances, no promise has been realised,” Rajeshwer, a youth of Tadem in Yedapally mandal, said.
