India's young innovators
The Under 25 Summit was held in the city for the first time on Sunday at T-Hub, Gachibowli. The festival provided a platform for young entrepreneurs and innovators to meet and interact with each other. Shreyans Jain and Anto Philip, both 21, have been conducting the festival in Bengaluru since three years, and brought it to Hyderabad only this year.
“People in Hyderabad are far more accepting and experimental when compared to other cities in the country,” say both of them.
“We want to provide a platform for the youth to have fun and learn at the same time. When a musician plays at the event, he doesn’t merely play but also has a story to tell. If you’re young and successful, you tell people how you did it,” says Shreyans, adding, “The average age of our team is 20. So, it’s not just for the youth but by the youth.”
The festival witnessed around 1000 people participate. Anto Philip says, “We are very passionate about what we’re doing. We want to crack the local market, no matter where we’re conducting the summit. We aim to build a community throughout the country and provide youngsters a platform of alternative education,” adding that they don’t create anything that they don’t enjoy themselves: “We create things we’d also enjoy. Under 25 Summit is a replacement for boring conferences.”
Don’t their ideas clash in? “Our sun signs match so we think alike,” jokes Shreyans, adding, “Our ideas do clash in but at the end of the day we sort it out. I’m optimistic whereas Anto finds glitches and takes care of it. Isn’t it a perfect combination?”
They further plan to host the summit annually in cities across the country.
