For the love of LUXE

This young lady has created an online platform, where luxury lovers can not just buy but also sell or swap their products.

Like any 20-year-old she loves to shop and spend time with family and friends. But she never swayed from her vision of revolutionising the pre-owned luxury market in India. And that’s how Mehal Kejriwal set up DuaVivo, as she believes that every luxury brand should have a second life. “If you have international brands then you can now reindulge in luxury with them,” states the young and zealous, Mehal who has created a platform for pre-owned luxury products; a place where luxe lovers can buy and sell their treasured luxury products.

A student of Centre of Management Studies, Jain University, Bengaluru, she was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug at a young age. “The idea stemmed from an everyday problem we faced at home. My mom’s fond of shopping and loved stocking her high value products. With changing trends, she would buy more products and the old luxury products would not be used with problem of storage cropping up. On the other hand, my father would get upset about how these products were not being used after sometime, and felt it was a waste of money.

These everyday arguments just led me to think — is this the problem in other households too? And that’s when I created both a website and a store where you can buy, sell or swap authentic luxury products. Every item is authenticated by our US partners,” states the young lass with curly locks and dreams to make it big.

Having travelled extensively, Mehal was exposed to various international brands and markets across the globe. With an exposure and insight into the pre-owned luxury market, she put her learnings into practice and seized the opportunity to make luxury affordable and attainable to everyone in the country. “Extensive travel to the UK and the US gave me exposure to the second hand luxury market abroad. I become curious to see how this concept would work in India, “ she adds.

Like any young girl, Mehal is not just a workaholic, she also loves to travel. “Barcelona and Koh Samui are my favourite holiday destinations. I remember how my family and I travelled through Barcelona only on our cycles. Next on my bucket list is Rome and Vaadhoo Islands (sea full of stars).”

We wonder if managing college and work gets a tad tough, and Mehal admits, “Yes, I spend most of my time juggling between college, office and the store. But if you love what you do, there is no force that can stop you from achieving your goals. I also miss out on hanging out with my friends, but I get a great sense of accomplishment that makes it all worthwhile.”
