Turns out anchor-turned-actress Sree Mukhi was the highest paid artiste in the recently concluded Bigg Boss Season 3. Though Rahul won the title and a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh, it was apparently Sree Mukhi who earned the most from the reality show.
“Every celebrity who enters the house gets paid depending on their popularity. The organisers pay these celebrities a fixed amount per day as per an agreement they sign when they enter,” explains a source.
Sree Mukhi, who remained in the Bigg Boss house all the hundred days, apparently got paid the most. “Given her popularity in TV and films, the organisers fixed her remuneration quite high, and she may have easily made around `1 crore through this show — paid `1 lakh per day,” adds the source.
Fellow contestant Rahul may have won `50 lakhs as prize money, but his per day remuneration was comparatively 10 times lower! Since most of the other contestants too are not very popular names, Sree Mukhi, despite not winning the title, is the highest paid celebrity on the show.
