Wrapping anger in humour
In this stressful lifestyle what a relief it would be if someone finds out a remedy to deal with stress. That’s what eminent theatre artist YG Madhuvanthi of Maham Enterprises has tried to deal with, in the satirical play Kochikaadhe Ma.
The group has already conducted 400 shows in their previous plays in last six years. The story is about a short-tempered girl Sakkubai, played by YG Madhuvanthi herself. Her dad wants her to become an air hostess. As the job requires patience and calm with the passengers, she is sent to attend a training session to deal with anger but in turn annoys her coach. Everything turns topsy-turvy and finally the story ends up in marriage. The play was launched on August 3 at Bharat Kalachar and would be re-enacted in various sabhas during the entire month.
That is produced by YG Madhuvanthi and directed by S Sureshwar, who is a television and film actor. It is written by G Radhakrishnan. Television personality Sairam has also played a prominent role. This is the fifth production of Theatre of Maham and the artists have seamlessly put in their effort to spread the message of anger management through humour.
The next play would be conducted at Lion’s club South on Aug 10 , Vani Mahal on Aug 19, Nanganallur Ranjini Hall on Aug 25, RR Sabha (Mylapore) on Aug 26, and finally Brahma Gana Sabha on August 28.
