Special prayers were conducted at the Chilkur Balaji Temple in Hyderabad on Thursday to ward off the Corona virus.
C.S. Rangarajan, Archaka, Chilkur Balaji Devasthanam, said the Apamarjana Stotram and Sudarshana Ashtakam were recited to contain the outbreak of the dreaded disease.
“These slokas call on the various forms of Vishnu to use his Sudarshana Chakra to protect our bodies and minds from various illnesses. We lowered the deity into water and chanted mantras, and after the rituals, holy water was sprinkled on the 2000-odd devotees who participated in the special prayers,” Rangarajan said.
