KOZHIKODE: This year for many of the youngsters in Kozhikode on the Valentine’s Day, their valentine was either nature or the trees. Sounds strange but interesting as few students of Indian Institute of Management - Kozhikode challenged the youngsters of the city to take any creative videos related to their activity connecting nature and then send it to IIMK. If you have made your valentine nature, then you might also get a chance of winning Rs 10,001 as a cash prize, as part of the environment and nature awareness initiative of the IIMK supported by Harithaparvam, a project by Compassion Never Ends (CNE).
“Harithaparvam aims to plant thousands of trees, develop volunteers for environment protection and conduct various nature awareness programmes for students. On this Valentine Day, there could have been nothing better than loving your nature, as at this point it is the absolute need to preserve the environment carefully,” said Shanu Narayan of IIMK.
“The social development project intends to inculcate social value creation among students. This year they had come up with this creative idea making the youngsters think creatively on how they could love the nature to their best.” The contest named My Nature - My Valentine has requested the participants to send their activity video of 10-minute duration. The activity video mainly includes planting saplings. The last date for submitting entries is March 10.
