Ask anyone who spends a majority of their day scrolling through social media what they’ve been looking at. Pat comes the reply, funny videos! Most of our Facebook and Instagram timelines are crowded with absolutely adorable, pet, food and baby videos that have gone viral for the same reason.
A lot of youngsters love sharing them or tagging their friends. It just seems to make their day! We ask these folk what videos they love the most and what makes them so enjoyable. Gitanjali Srinivas, a theatre studies graduate says, “Some babies and pets are just really adorable. They’re so cute and it makes me so happy. I’ve always been a super animal lover and had pets at home, and around me. It takes my mind off other, more negative things, definitely. And sometimes I’m just watching them to further my procrastination.”
Awesome pet videos absolutely rule. There really is nothing that can beat them, except maybe for food. Aarthi, a media studies student says, “I am really passionate about food and I hope to indulge in the industry someday. I can spend hours looking at videos of food. The way they are shot are really incredible and requires a lot of skill.” Tasty and BuzzFeed Videos, Insider as well as several other channels have been producing heavy duty videos that capture cooking and presentation in an incredibly appetising manner.
Our world is clouded with adorable faces. Scrolling through your timeline can sometimes be like flipping through an old baby album, as you recall and smile about the good, old days.
Inspite of living our lives in our gadgets, these videos although still a virtual existence, create an avenue for reconnecting with a few mates and just having a much needed laugh. Daphne Pearl D’souza, an intern at a production house, says, “I think we tend be so involved in our lives that we often don’t notice the little things like these guys (cute puppies and other pets). They clearly enjoy the small joys and happy things in life and we tend to crib about a lot of things in our life. Also, they are so adorable. How can you just scroll right through them?”
Viral in every sense, these videos have become another way to focus on the more, lighter notes of life.
