Showcasing a flora
With more than 100 stalls, the expo, which is in its seventh edition, has something for every gardening enthusiast. So expect everything from vegetable seeds and medicinal plants to cactus, ornamental flowering plants and succulents. And that includes a range of 3–100-year-old bonsais available for a prices starting at Rs 100 and going up to a whopping Rs 3 lakh.
The nurseries participating in the exhibition are from Kolkata, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kadiam, etc. “Nurseries from Darjeeling and Siliguri have showcased plants from the Himalayan slopes too,” shares Khalid Ahmed, organiser of the agriculture expo. Khalid is a plant enthusiast himself, who had started off with one stall in Nampally and went on to creating this platform to bring gardening enthusiasts together.
Tools for the garden
The expo is not just limited to plants; many stalls here also sell various gardening tools and equipment, organic manure, fertilizers and biopesticides.
“I’ve been visiting this expo for over five years now, and every year, I learn some new concept about the plant. I have started gardening and this place keeps on inspiring me in my gardening process,” shares S. Ramachandra Reddy, a visitor to the expo.
