Twist and glow post yoga!
Twist, flex and turn, these words might seem painful to you at first but, as days pass these words become your mantra to a happy lifestyle. Here are a few experts who share their journey and share tips on how not to succumb to a sedentary lifestyle.
Somya Luhadia a yoga practitioner for four years started a YouTube channel to share with others about the benefits of yoga. She says, “I'm an entrepreneur and work life balance is a big task. However, I manage this by dedicating one hour for exercise and 25 minutes for meditation. Yoga has given me a positive and peaceful perspective of life.”
Anwesha Mukherjee is another YouTuber who speaks about yoga and wellness tips on her channel. She shares, “Yoga personally helped me a lot. One can gain holistic fitness as it doesn't just cater to physical fitness but also mental fitness." Her advice is to surrender yourself to yoga and keep away from distractions. One can eventually see a positive change which inspires them and makes their sedentary lifestyle worthwhile. She adds, "Performing exercises everyday and practicing pranayama to cleanse your system and get rid of toxins is highly essential to lead a healthy life.”
For those of you'll who believe yoga is performed well only by women, breaking this stereotype is John a yoga teacher and practitioner since the past 10 years. He shares his love for yoga and his journey. He says, "It was my first few classes at Goa which turned a regular class into my profession, I began to imbibe all the knowledge about yoga, so much that the more I learned the more addictive it became. I've been living my life all alone and yoga is the key which kept me alive and strong, mentally and physically. Yoga guides me through my solo journey."
Millennials are succumbing to gadgets and are on a fast lane to success in the cost of letting their health take a back seat. John opines, "Today's youngsters are actively driven and target oriented right from acquiring education till landing a sophisticated job. This has lead to increase in health complications. The youths are more concerned about 22 inch biceps, 6 packs than internal peace."
He adds, “To meet these needs or expectations we need to work on ourselves what we repeat becomes practice, practice becomes habit and the habit ultimately turns into a lifestyle and this is precisely what yoga is all about.”
Breaking stereotypes yet again is Vyshak a yoga trainer and practitioner for over a decade shares, “I started my yoga journey with Bharat Thakur artistic yoga. I can now say that more than just a mere form of exercise, yoga has opened my horizons to a whole new window. It has now become my passion, profession and also a purpose of my life.”
Throwing some light on the benefits of yoga, he adds, "Yoga can help gain a holistic satisfaction. From strengthening your bones and muscles to making you active and relaxed this is according to me the perfect way to unwind from the daily stress you incur at your workplace. Yoga also helps you focus better at work rather than snoring at work due to fatigue post a heavy workout session at the gym. I feel millennials are giving into their monotonous lifestyle and are doing very less to improve their health.”
