From technical workshops to drone wars and artificial intelligence, the Technical Symposium Convergence 2k18 Reloaded covered it all.

The 2-day Technical Symposium Convergence 2k18 Reloaded, a technical fest, was held at the Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology recently.

Masafumi Mizuno CEO of Japan Automatic Machine Co. Ltd. (JAM), and U. Rama Mohan Superintendent of Police of the Cybercrime Division of the CID-Telangana State, attended the event as chief guests.

The fest provided the perfect platform to exhibit students’ skills and accomplishments in the technology arena. It showcased the technological prowess of students through the projects and products on display and also hosted 10 technical workshops, technical paper presentations of over 200 papers from among the 300 submitted, six professional talks, drone wars, robotics and numerous activities, under the name Saaradhi that spreads awareness of social responsibility.

Emphasis was laid on the demographic dividend that India enjoys and how this huge potential resource could be directed towards innovation-led development of the country. On the other hand, the chief guest also shed light on technology proliferation that has opened the gates to new age crimes.

Speakers at the event shared that technology is a double-edged sword and its use must be restricted for the good of the public.

The fest was designed to prepare its graduates in application-based advanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Analytics, clubbed under the name Mezzanine Technologies. The symposium hoped to instil social responsibility and a greater convergence of technology into societal development.
