And that’s a wrap!
There’s a buzz in movie land and this one isn’t going to die down for a while. Yes, it’s time for Avengers: Endgame, the final instalment in the Avengers series that’s already setting the box office on fire outside India. The hugely anticipated finale of the superhero series is releasing today in India and the mania around it is nothing short of fanaticism. From spoilers getting leaked online to tickets getting sold-out much in advance, Avengers: Endgame will be a flick that’ll be talked about for a long time. The film , a continuation of Avengers: Infinity War will showcase the remaining superheroes’ battle to defeat Thanos who now has all the six infinity stones.
Actor and blogger Prateek Thakker, a huge Avengers buff exclaims, “I have special invites to the premiere tonight and I couldn’t have been more excited. My wife is waiting to deliver anytime soon, but I have asked her to wait until tomorrow! The hype is maddening and the tomatometer ratings and first reviews are adding to the excitement. The shows are definitely sold out and the news that shows will probably run 24/7 will add more tickets hopefully,” says Prateek who just did a recap of the previous films in the series – Civil War and Infinity War because they build up to this one.
With captain Marvel joining the franchise, things have gotten more exhilarating for fans.
“My favourite characters are Spiderman and Captain Marvel. I just love Captain Marvel – she’s the new woman superhero and the main key to defeating Thanos’” reveals Prateek.
With the piracy website TamilRockers leaking the film online and spoilers being posted all over the internet, fans want to catch the film before the suspense is ruined for them. Sachin Ramachandran, who works for PayPal says, “I decided to plan and prepare myself for the biggest MCU movie with my cousins. We wanted to watch it together right after we watched the previous part – Avengers: Infinity War. I’ve been waiting for Avengers: Endgame to come out because the previous one ended leaving all the fans with questions in their heads. As for tickets, they were selling out like hot cakes – we’d kept an eye on all the ticket booking operators out there. From patiently waiting to experiencing technical issues, we were pushed to getting tickets only on a Sunday even though we wanted to go on the first day. We got our hands on tickets for a late night show,” says the thrilled Avengers buff who loves the flow of the plot.
“The casting is just amazing and the last two parts give more importance to the negative characters of the movie which is definitely a thumbs up for those who don’t like just another happy ending movie,” adds the Thor fan.
With almost all shows sold out over the weekend, service delivery manager Vitthal Shanbag managed to get a Friday evening show at a local theatre. “I was waiting for my friends to decide and it got late, but thankfully I found a one screen cinema hall that I could go to. My favourite Avengers is Iron Man/Tony Stark — genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist. He’s one of the smartest and strongest avengers,” he says.
