Priyanka Rachabattuni is set to present her research at University of Granada in Spain and at University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Priyanka Rachabattuni, a Ph.D. Research Scholar from Translation Studies, Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies, School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been selected for two of the world’s best summer schools. The youngster is attending “IBN Tibbon Translation Studies Doctoral and Teacher Training Summer School” that is being held at the University of Granada in Spain and then Harvard University’s “World Literature Program” at University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Priyanka’s topic of research is “Audio and visual translation studies of advertisements in Indian context”. Talking from Spain, Priyanka excitedly says, “I’m delighted as I will be interacting with people from different countries! IBN Tibbon Translation Studies Doctoral and Teacher Training Summer School is a joint initiative by five different universities (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia; Bogaziçi University, Turkey; University of Turku and University of Tampere, Finland; University of Granada, Spain) and focuses on contemporary research into literary and non-literary works from a historical perspective. Eminent professors like Mona Baker, University of Manchester in UK and Dr Dorothy Kelly, University of Granada in Spain are participating in the workshops.”

Harvard University’s “World Literature Program” is being organised by the Institute of World Literature, where world’s leading literary figures will offer seminars. Nearly 160 participants from more than 70 countries are expected to attend. “I have presented 11 research papers till date and three of them have been published. Therefore, I went through all my research papers again. I have prepared thoroughly, but it’s going to be very hectic,” says Priyanka.

Priyanka, who is from Nalgonda district, says that she is the first woman from her family who is pursuing her Ph.D. “My parents encourage me at all times,” says Priyanka, and adds, “I always aim to excel in whatever I do. Right now, I am concentrating on my research. I want to become a professor in the future.”
