Entrepreneur, digital marketing and social media expert Sorav Jain was named one among Top 100 Digital Marketing Influencers last year by Twitter. His book #BecomeABrand is a reflection of his career graph and the learnings from his journey. Sorav explains the concept of branding and talks about his books, his goals and his company’s future in an interview with DC.

What is a brand? How is it important?

Brand means identity -a distinct identity that has been developed because of regular efforts to communicate. Going beyond a memorable logo, good branding increases the value of a company, provides employees with direction and motivation, and makes acquiring new customers easier.

What role does Digital Marketing play in a business?

It is all about identifying your client’s business problems and giving them a solution online on the platform they are most available on. It could be search-specific or social media-specific.

On his book Social Media for Business:

The book, released in 2012, was about how you can use various digital platforms aka social media to develop your business. Recently, I authored a new book #BecomeABrand, which is useful for anyone seeking to develop personal branding using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Quora, YouTube, LinkedIn, Blogging and Podcasting.
