This tweet got Anand Mahindra to shut down a fountain in Mumbai office
Now days if you got a problem you can tweet about it and it catches attention of the people and helps you to get a solution as well.
Recently a Twitter user got Mahindra Group’s Managing Director Anand Mahindra’s attention. He not only responded back to the user but decided to shut down a fountain at the company’s Mumbai office.
Rohit Talwalkar tweeted a photo of a fountain of Mahindra Tower and suggested that it could be avoided looking at the present scenario, where people in Maharashtra are struggling with water scarcity and drought.
Talwalkar tweeted, " @anandmahindra fountain at mahindra towers at time of severe drought in Mah. Guess can be avoided "

Just a day later, Anand Mahindra responded back and promised to shut down the fountain and agreed that it “sends the wrong signal”.
He tweeted, “It's recirculated water & no wastage. But you're right, sends the wrong signal. We'll shut it down.”

In 2014-2015, the government estimated that more than 19,000 villages in in Maharashtra, India’s third-largest state, had no access to water and were facing scarcity issues.
While some are appreciating what he did, some people feel that the fountain was helping the bird in hot climate.
BJP's IT cell head, Amit Malviya, said the fountain isn't going to solve the water crisis.
@anandmahindra We must stop being apologetic about such things. Stopping a fountain (reused water) isn't going to solve the water crisis.

@anandmahindra @rstalwalkar Look at the joy of birds around the fountain. I think it's fine, as long as the water is not wasted.
