Mahesh Babu Misses National Award as Producer for ‘Sarkari Vaari Paata’

Superstar Mahesh Babu reportedly missed out on securing a National Award as a producer at the 70th National Film Awards. According to a reliable source, Mahesh Babu's name was listed as the official producer of the message-driven film Sarkari Vaari Paata when it was submitted for consideration by the National Awards committee. Despite being a co-producer alongside Mythri Movie Makers and 14 Reels Entertainment, Mahesh Babu’s role as a producer was highlighted, leading to speculation that he could have received the prestigious award from the President of India if the film had been selected as the Best Film.

The source explained, “Had the film been chosen, it would have been a fitting recognition for Mahesh Babu, aligning with his stature and charisma.”

The makers of Sarkari Vaari Paata were reportedly confident that the film’s strong social message would resonate with the jury. The movie tackles the issue of bank recovery agents targeting small and middle-class borrowers while overlooking wealthy defaulters, a topical and relevant theme that the filmmakers believed could sway the committee.

“Mahesh Babu’s portrayal of the disparity between how big-time defaulters and small loan borrowers are treated had the potential to impress the jury members who were looking for films with a strong social message,” the source added.

On the professional front, Mahesh Babu is riding high on the success of his recent film Guntur Kaaram and is now gearing up for his most ambitious project yet, a magnum opus directed by the renowned filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli. The source concluded, “This will be the biggest film of his career, and it is expected to captivate audiences worldwide.”
