MP Sagar Eshwar Khandre strives to make Bidar slum-free

Sagar also recalled that his father, Minister Ishwar Khandre, had earlier sanctioned 25,000 houses to make Bhalki slum-free

Bidar: Bidar MP Sagar Eshwar Khandre is making significant efforts to eliminate slums across the district, with a focus on providing adequate housing for residents.

"We aim to make Bidar slum-free. To achieve this, I have secured approval for 50,000 houses. In addition, I have written to Union Housing Minister Shivraj Singh, requesting further allocations," Sagar said during the launch of the AwaasPlus 2024 survey.

Sagar also recalled that his father, Minister Ishwar Khandre, had earlier sanctioned 25,000 houses to make Bhalki slum-free.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr Girish Badole mentioned that MP Sagar Khandre has worked diligently and secured approval for over 40,000 houses this time.

"Additionally, 758 houses have been approved under the Basava Housing Scheme and 1,000 houses under the Dr BR Ambedkar Housing Scheme," he said.

"Earlier, there were several issues in the beneficiary selection process. To resolve these issues, the government introduced the AwaasPlus 2024 app, through which surveys will be conducted. In this regard, training has already been provided to the concerned officers and staff, and the officers must conduct the surveys without any shortcomings. The public should also assist the officials in this process," he added.

During the event, 91 beneficiaries received approval letters under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar-Basava Housing Scheme, and the Awaas Plus 2024 poster was released.
