Adilabad: Mancherial MLA K. Premsagar Rao on Sunday performed puja before launching regular drinking water supply for one-and-a-half hours every day for people of Mancherial and Naspur municipalities on the occasion of Sankranti at a function organised at Ashoknagar Colony in Mancherial town. He performed puja on the occasion.
The water is being supplied under the Godavari portable drinking water scheme under Mission Bhagiratha. Till now, the water supply had been irregular.
Addressing a meeting on the occasion, Premsagar Rao assured that such potable drinking water supply will continue even during the summer. He underlined that water being supplied will be tested in labs once every two months to ensure its quality.
The MLA thanked officials of Mission Bhagiratha, RWS, Public Health and municipality for extending their cooperation in ensuring that the water is supplied regularly every day. He also felicitated some of the top officials.
Premsagar Rao requested people to use the water responsibly without wasting it. He said the days are gone when they had to stand in queues for collecting their water from tankers.
Additional collector Motilal, DCC president K. Surekha and Congress leaders Pudari Tirupathi and Thumula Naresh were among those present.
